PEDALING FOR PLEDGES!

Benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ...

The Goddard School at 255 Route 70, in Toms River, will participate in its annual St. Jude Trike-A-Thon during next week, on October 7th and 8th.

The Trike-A-Thon program benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the premier center for the research and treatment of childhood cancer and other catastrophic disease.

Almost all of our children will participate in this fun program while learning riding-safety lessons and raising money for St. Jude. The week will end with the participants riding trikes and other riding-toys, to practice the rules they learned.

Friends and family members of the participants sponsor the event by pledging an amount-per-lap the children ride, or a one-time donation. Teachers and parent volunteers add to the number of participants.

"It's really fun to see the children get excited about learning," says Miss Sharon, the coordinator of the event. "The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon also gives us the opportunity to teach the children valuable safety lessons while also teaching them the importance of helping other children who are battling cancer."

The faculty of the Goddard school continues hosting the annual event. "There's nothing like knowing you are making a difference for others," they agree.
